WORCESTER__Dorothy M. (Gut) Golas, 86, a lifelong Worcester resident, passed away to eternal peace, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation St. Her husband, Bennie Golas died in 1994. She leaves two daughters, Carol A. Oslund and her husband, Ralph K. of Holden, and Trina J. Golas and her husband, Edward A. Gallant of Worcester; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Walter Gut. She was born August 5, 1923, the youngest of three children of Polish immigrants, Ludwika (Kicak) and Walenty Gut.
Mrs. Golas was an inspector for Harrington-Richardson, Co. for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and attended St. Mary’s School. She will be remembered as a very strong and caring woman who never showed her pain. She also had a beautiful smile on her face even when her pain got the better of her. She will be sadly missed by her family, and may God bless her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 28, 2009 in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday, August 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC, 20077.
