Olga A. Mullen, 92, Olyphant, died Sunday at Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville, shortly after admittance. She was married for 53 years to Joseph P. Mullen, who died in October 2000.
Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anastasia Alchesin. A lifelong resident, as well as a community leader in Olyphant, she was a member of St Patrick's Church and its organizations. She was a member of Mid-Valley Hospital's Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of Raymond Henry American Legion Post and the Catholic Golden Age.
She loved to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her contagious laugh and ability to lighten a moment will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are two daughters, Maryann Munro and husband, Rick, Yardley; and Dorrie Rogers and husband, Tom, Olyphant; two grandchildren, Jennifer Munro and Ryan Munro and wife, Jenna, all of New York City.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Theodore, and a sister, Mary Alchesin.
The funeral will be Friday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Muldowney. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m.
