Theresa R. (Pimental) Correia, 60 of New Bedford died August 25, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Margaret (Perry) Pimental of New Bedford and the late Leo Pimental, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Theresa was employed by Poyant Signs and previously worked at Shawmut Bank and Peoples Bank for many years.
She was a volunteer for the United Way and Junior Achievement. Theresa enjoyed animals.
Survivors include her mother; a sister, Pamela Sylvia and her husband Paul of New Bedford; her Godchildren as well as her niece and nephew, Sarah R. Sylvia and Paul Sylvia, Jr., and her Godchild, Alycia Fernandes; a great-nephew, Jayden Matthew Sylvia; and her dearest friend, Ana DeBarros of New Bedford.
She was the sister of the late President of the New Bedford City Council and Ward 6 Councilor Leo Pimental.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, August 26th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial with follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, August 27th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Susan G.
