Gertrude C. Dolan, 79, died August 24, 2009 after a short battle with lung cancer at the Merrimack Community Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was born in West Newton, Massachusetts on September 18, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude Clarke. She attended Newton High School and later lived in Burlington, MA, Hollis, NH, Meredith, NH and Vero Beach, FL.
Beloved wife of 59 years to George Dolan, devoted mother of loving daughter Peggy Marino of Waltham, MA and loving son and daughter-in-law Tom and Kate Dolan of Londonderry, NH. Gertrude also leaves her four cherished grandchildren, James, Michael, Jason and Kristin, one great grandchild Cooper and her dear sister Mary Fessenden of Brookline, NH.
Mrs. Dolan will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose family was the center of her life. Gertrude was a gentle soul that loved animals and gardening.
The calling hours were held Thursday, August 27th from 5-8p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10a.m. Friday August 28th in St. Jude’s Church, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A private burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Waltham, MA. Donations in memory of Mrs. Dolan may be made to the Merrimack Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
