Mrs. Mary J. (Erruse) Bettencourt, of Taunton, died Monday, August 24 in Long-
meadow of Taunton following a lengthy illness. She was born 87 years ago in Taunton,
the daughter of the late Jose and Mary E. (Ferreira) Erruse. She was educated in Taunton
and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at
the former Sol Burke Company in Taunton for 10 years. She enjoyed listening to country
music, watching television and attending wrestling matches. She was a communicant of
the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Taunton.
She leaves:
1 daughter: Nancy Lee Bettencourt of Taunton
1 son: Michael C. Bettencourt of Nashua, N.H.
Mrs. Bettencourt was the sister of the late Frank Ferreira, Joseph Ferreira, Robert
Ferreira and Georgianna Mendes.
A Visitation will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, August 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment will be private.
