James J. McCabe - Of Wellesley, formerly of Chicago, IL, died at home on August 24. Beloved husband of Carol (Capodanno) McCabe, he is also survived by his brother Bernard McCabe of Chicago, niece Erin Rose McCabe of Dorchester, nephew James B. McCabe and his wife Kerry of West Roxbury and grandnephew Seamus Patrick McCabe. He was born in Chicago, IL, graduated form Mt. Carmel High School and Northern Illinois University. He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. After moving to Boston in 1980 he worked for the Bank of New England. Jim enjoyed running and was a member of the Boston Barleyhoppers Running Club where he met Carol. In 1993 he started his own tour company, New England Ghost Tours, which operated bus and walking tours in Massachusetts and downtown Boston. Jim was a member of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater Boston Concierge Association and the Wellesley Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid historian and lifelong sports enthusiast. He enjoyed playing disc golf with his family and friends.
