NEW BEDFORD — Enoch "Shep" Shepley, age 80 years, of New Bedford, died Friday, August 21, 2009, at The Oaks surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Shirley (Burbank) Shepley.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Samuel and Emma (Stott) Shepley. Formerly of Dartmouth, he resided in the New Bedford area most of his life.
A US Navy veteran, he was employed as a chef on the NOAA Research Vessel "Delaware II" based in Woods Hole until he retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Elyse Perry of Dartmouth, Cynthia Souza and her husband, Mark of Freetown and Carolyn Shepley Chiarello and her husband, William of Somerville; a son, Thomas Shepley and his wife, Jacqueline of Dartmouth; five grandchildren, Christopher and Katie Souza, William Chiarello and Zachery and Lily Shepley.
He was the father of the late Robert E. Shepley.
His service will take place on Thursday, August 27, at 9:30 a.m., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., NB with visitation on Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in the Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:30 a.m. Please omit flowers.
