Obituary

Larner, Rev. James M., of Dorchester, August 24, 2009. Beloved son of the late Thomas and Mary (Conway) Larner. Loving brother of the late John J. , Thomas J. and Albert Larner. Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Larner of Randolph, and the late Josephine Larner of Quincy. Devoted uncle of Kathleen Nee, Stephen J. Larner, and Virginia Fidalgo all of Quincy, James J. Larner of Natick, Christine LaLond of South Weymouth, Daniel T. Larner of Cambridge, Thomas J. Larner of Braintree, Kevin L. Larner of Randolph, William C. Larner of Plymouth, Maryann Zaccardi of Scituate, and Michael J. Larner of Braintree. Also survived by several grand nieces and grand nephews.

Fr. Larner will lie in state on Thursday in St. Ann’s Church, NEPONSET, from 2-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 o’clock, His Eminence, Sean Patrick Cardinal O’Malley will preside. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment New Calvary Cemetery.

Fr. Larner was ordained from the Class of 1957, St. John’s Seminary. He went on to serve at St. Barbara Church, Woburn, St. Brendan Church, Dorchester, St. Peter Church, Plymouth, Pastor of St. Ann Church, Dorchester, Gate of Heaven, South Boston and most recently at St. Gregory, Dorchester. He was the late Chaplain for the John P. McKeon Post #146 AMVETS, and a member of the Wollaston Golf Club, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his memory to St. Ann’s Parish, St. Brendan’s Parish, or St. Gregory’s Parish.
