Obituary

Sara H. Black's home going began on August 21, 2009 for eternal rest. Sara was born in Toulon, Illinois, the fourth of five children born to Joseph and Dora Harrington. Her memory will be cherished by Sara's husband, Dr. Lowell D. Black, by Sara's sons, Reginald Hall and his wife Angelina, and Ralph and Lawrence Black, and Sara's sister Doris Davis. Preceded in death, by her son Ronald C. Hall and her brothers, Allen, David and Donald Harrington. Sara had a large extended family, of sisters-in law, brothers-in law, nieces, and nephews, with a host of many friends.
Sara was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH, from 1983-2004 as a Logistics Management Specialist. Sara held an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Capital University , Columbus, OH. and a master's degree in Logistics Management and Supervision, from Central Michigan University, Troy, Michigan. Sara was a co-author with her husband, Dr. Lowell D. Black, of the book titled, An Officer and a Gentleman, the story of Henry O. Flipper. Sara, we will miss you, with all of our love, your family and friends.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her family will receive visitors prior to the service from 4:30 - 5:30 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
