Obituary

Theresa L. (Guilbert) Goulet, 82, of Hernando, FL, formerly of New Bedford, Acushnet and Chicopee, MA, died on August 22, 2009 at home after a long illness and under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County, FL. She was the daughter of the late Omer and Severine (Larochelle) Guilbert and the wife of Armand J. Goulet. They were married 50 years. Born December 9, 1926 in E. Blackstone, MA she grew up in New Bedford and attended St. Anne's School and New Bedford High School. For many years, she was employed as a Sales Clerk by the Star Store of New Bedford. She was a homemaker and was very active in both Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities, Parent Teacher Associations, and church activities in Acushnet. She belonged to the Citrus Memorial Hospital Share Club and the Parkinson's Support Group, and was active in the Canterbury Lake Estates Club House social activities. She was a parishioner of St. Scholastica Catholic Church of Lecanto, FL. Upon her retirement in 1994, she came to Hernando, from Chicopee, MA to be closer to her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Besides her widower, she leaves a son, Lawrence C. Goulet and his wife, Susan of Inverness, FL and a daughter, Mrs. Leanne M. Stasiowski and her husband, Stephen of Hagerstown, MD. Four grandchildren, Chad and Scott Goulet, and Brian and Heidi Stasiowski. One brother, Emile Guilbert and his wife, Beatrice, and two sisters-in-law, Ida Guilbert of New Bedford, and Irene Guilbert of Brooklyn, NY, and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, Lucien, Ovide, Noel, and Bertrand Guilbert and three sisters, Mrs. Annette Thibeault, Mrs. Rita Silveira, and Mrs. Madeleine Provencal.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Saturday, August 29th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be on Friday, August 28th from 6-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Scholastica Catholic Church Building Fund, 4301 W.
