Obituary

Barbara M. (Sullivan) Cannistraro, 72 of Medway died August 23 in Milford Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was the wife of Joseph B. Cannistraro.
Born in Newton, May 31, 1937, the daughter of the late Dennis and Catherine (Doherty) Sullivan, Mrs. Cannistraro was raised in Watertown and had lived in Medway since 1968.
Mrs. Cannistraro was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School in Watertown.
Mrs. Cannistraro had worked for the New England Telephone Company for 33 years retiring as an engineering clerk.
She was a member of the Pioneers of America Club.
Mrs. Cannistraro enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Before her eyesight failed her, she had made many hats and mittens for the Missions.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by; her daughter Michelle M. Cannistraro of Medway and her son Michael Cannistraro and his wife Angela of Medway.
Her funeral will be held on Friday August 28 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Milford Regional Medical Center, 14 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.
