Obituary

Louis Scaparotti, a retired North End restaurateur, died Friday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was 97.

Mr. Scaparotti was born in Framingham, the son of the late Antonio and Filomena Scaparotti. Louis lived in the North End for many years where he operated his restaurant “Louie’s” on Fleet Street. A Medford resident for 50 years, Louis was a dedicated family man who enjoyed cooking for and sharing time with his relatives and friends.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Maniscalco). He was a devoted father to Anthony Scaparotti and his wife Janice of Medford, Phyllis McGinn and her husband Paul of Beverly. He was a loving grandfather to Mark, Matthew, TJ, Stephen, Kristen, Mickey and loving great-grandfather to Matteo and Rocco. He was a dear brother to Joseph Scaparrotta of Brighton, Carmella Scaparrotta of Italy, the late Michael, Dominic, Benny, John, Angela and Nicholas.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Louie’s name to Special Olympics MA North Section, 100 Conifer Hill Drive, Suites 301-302, Danvers, MA 01923, Attn: Pam Prior.
