WORCESTER-R. Lloyd Durgin, 78 formerly of 485 Grove Street, died Saturday, January 12th in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, Memorial Campus. He leaves 5 sons Richard L. and Donald A. Durgin both of Auburn, J. Paul Durgin of Ormand Beach, FL, William R. Durgin of Whitinsville and Timothy K. Durgin of Shrewsbury, 2 daughters Colleen B. St. Francis of Auburn and Darlene T. Durgin of Worcester, a brother William D. Durgin of Orleans, MA, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and nephews and nieces. A brother Quentin Durgin of Worcester and a sister Theresa McLaughlin of Grafton both predeceased him.
He was born in Madison, ME the son of James D. and Annie N. (Thibodeau) Durgin. He was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School. Mr. Durgin was a World War 2 Marine Corps veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a self-employed antique dealer.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family, there are no calling hours. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements. Please omit flowers and make contributions to the charity of your choice.
