Fred Lane Crawley, Sr., 81, of Bainbridge, Georgia, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Life Care Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2009 in the Chapel of Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home in Hapeville. Interment was in the Forrest Hill Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, Georgia.
Mr. Crawley was born January 7, 1928 in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Joseph H. Crawley, Jr., and the late Hazel McLendon Crawley. He moved to Bainbridge fifteen years ago from Atlanta. Mr. Crawley was a 1947 graduate of Fulton County High School and attended the Georgia Junior College in Atlanta. He lived in Lantana, Florida for seventeen years. Mr. Crawley was a former employee of Advance Auto Parts, Firestone Tire Company, NTW Tire Company in Atlanta, the Chevrolet dealership in Lakeworth, FL and was a real estate salesman and a tire salesman. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Hapeville.
He is survived by his wife: Bettye J. Crawley of Bainbridge; son: Fred L. Crawley, Jr., of Tampa, FL; daughters: Constance Elaine “Connie” Johnson of Bainbridge and Debra Ann “Deby” Stover of Green Leaf, ID; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
