WEBSTER – Irene F. (Govina) Lupa, 87, died Wednesday, August 19, at home after being stricken ill.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Andrew D. Lupa; a son, Daniel E. Lupa and his wife Yvonne of Worcester; a daughter, Janice I. Cavanaugh and her husband Gregory of Virginia Beach, VA; 2 grandchildren, Dawn McHugh and Michael Lupa; and 3 great grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Webster, the daughter of Paul and Winnie (Lezanska) Govina.
She lived in Worcester for 33 years before moving back here in 1978. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Lupa was a stitcher at Webster Shoe Company and at B & W Footwear before retiring in 1988. She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.
The funeral will be held Monday, August 24, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Monday, August 24, in the funeral home.
