William F. McCurdy Jr., 88, passed away at home in Malden on August 20th, 2009. He was born in Cambridge on December 22nd, 1920 to his parents William and Margaret (Cullinane) McCurdy. William was raised and educated in Cambridge. He has been a resident of Malden for the past 54 years. During World War II, he served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy. William worked as a mold cutter for the Myerson Tooth Company in Cambridge for 45 years. He was an avid golfer and most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Cronin) McCurdy; by his children, William F. McCurdy III and his significant other Linda Wheeler of Hudson, New Hampshire, Robert McCurdy and his wife Beth of Everett, James McCurdy and his wife Kathy of Andover, Thomas McCurdy of Malden, Catherine Stafford and her husband Barry of Hopkinton, John McCurdy and his wife Patricia of Billerica and Marcia Mitchell and her husband Valence of Sherman Oaks, California; by his grandchildren, Maura, Casey, Allison, William IV, Patricia, Hannah, Matthew, Janine, Brian, Bridget, Shauna, Katie, Kerri and Taylor; by his siblings, Sr. Margaret McCurdy, SND of Worcester and Patricia Pitts of Rochester, New York. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Cole and PFC Robert J. McCurdy and by his daughter-in-law Ann Marie McCurdy. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday August 25th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday August 24th from 4-8 PM.
