Auburn- Genevive A. (Wawiernia) Hinckley, 91, formerly of 183 Boyce Street, died Thursday, Aug. 7, in Radius Healthcare Center, Southbridge.
Her husband, Frederick H. Hinckley, died in 1981. She leaves a nephew, Alfred Wawiernia of Auburn; a niece, Mary Lou Petty of Worcester. A son, Frederick C. Hinckley of Auburn, died in 1970. A daughter, Carol A. Hinckley of Auburn, died in 1972. Two brothers, Edward Wawiernia and Alfred Wawiernia, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Anna (Nawrocki) Wawiernia and lived in Auburn for many years before moving to Southbridge.
She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, and was a member and past president of it's former Ladies League.
Mrs. Hinckley enjoyed sewing.
The funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 11, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), Worcester, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the funeral home.
