WANDA V. (CROATTI) RANDO, A Hingham resident for 60 years, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19th, 2009 at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell. She was 90. Mrs. Rando was born and raised in Framingham and came to Hingham after World War II. During the war, she commuted from Framingham to the Hingham Shipyard where she worked as a bookkeeper. She then worked as a dental assistant in the office of her beloved late husband, Dr. John J. Rando, Sr., DDS and was also associated with the dental office of Dr. Rene Berard. Mrs. Rando was an active communicant of St. Paul's Church in Hingham and a founding member of the Hingham Womens' Bowling Club.
She was the devoted mother of John J. Rando, Jr. of Hingham and Deborah V. Baronas of Ellicott City, MD. She was the sister of Edward Croatti of Framingham, Donald Croatti of Southborough, the late Louis, Robert, Mary Cole and Nellie Ellsworth. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Stephen, James, Julie and Merry. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Saturday, Aug. 22nd at 9 AM from the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Friday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Parkinsons Disease Assoc. (APDA), Mass. Chapter, 72 E. Concord St., C3, Boston, MA 02118.
Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
