Shayanna Joe Simmons, 17 months, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Oxford, MS to Larry Gene and Mary Lee Simmons.
A visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009. The funeral service will take place on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with Rev. James Edwards officiating. The committal will be held in Bethel Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Drew Kirk, Randy Simmons, William Simmons, and Buck Green.
Shayanna is survived by her parents, Larry Gene and Mary Lee Simmons of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Shannon Lee Simmons, Henry Gene Simmons and Zachary William Simmons; grandmother, Linda Cobern of Water Valley, MS; aunts, Betty & Drew Kirk of Water Valley, MS, Charlotte Glenn Melton of Coffeeville, MS, and Mary Camp of Water Valley, MS; uncles, Chris Cobern, Randy & Gwen Simmons, and William Simmons all of Water Valley, MS; and five cousins, Sam Melton, Nickie Melton, Bubba Kirk, Deanna Kirk, and Tammy Gaither, and her god-parent, Alma Gene Peacock of Ripley, MS.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Henry and Wilma Jean Simmons and her god-parent, Lexie Peacock.
