DRACUT - Shirley Runowicz, 51, a lifelong resident of Dracut, died Monday August 17th at Saints Medical Center in Lowell after a long illness.
She was born in Lowell on November 6, 1957, and she was a daughter of Henry J. Runowicz and the late Lillian S. (Cuipa) Runowicz. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
Prior to her illness, Shirley was employed as a custodian by the Town of Dracut at the Parker Avenue School. Previous to that, she had been employed for many years by the Lo Kai Restaurant in Dracut.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir Church in Lowell and a member of the Women's ANS Society at the church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her loving son, Nicholas Runowicz of Dracut; two sisters, Beverly Runowicz of Dracut and Susan Runowicz-Smith and her husband JW Smith of Los Altos, CA; a niece Alexandra Smith of Los Altos, CA; the father of her son, Kevin P. Mullin of Dracut; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4 until 7 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Casimir Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Casimir Cemetery in Pelham, NH.
