Obituary

Sandra Gail (Hensley) Parks, age 58, of Groton, passed away August 16th at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.

She was born in MacArthur, West Virginia on May 2, 1951 the daughter of Norman F. and Priscilla J.(Fauquet) Hensley.

Sandra loved to be a part of her children and grandchildren’s lives, their accomplishments were her contentment, and she never put herself first. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and found happiness in the happiness of her children. The only thing Sandra needed in her life was to be loved by her family and she was more than words could ever explain. She devoted her life to being a terrific wife and the greatest mother a child could have. We are grateful for every second of our lives that we shared with you; you taught us to be the best that we could no matter the situation, to always see the good and to accept and learn from our mistakes. You taught us that life is not easy and no one is perfect, to believe in ourselves and be proud of who we are. We are proud of you, our Mother, our role model.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin Everett, Crystal Magee, and her sons, Tracey Parks, Christopher Parks, and Charles Church Jr.; 9 grandchildren, and Charles Church Sr. of a 22 year marriage; her siblings, Norman F. Hensley Jr., Linda Barrios, Jean Church, Gary Hensley and Patricia Lawton, Robert Hensley Sr. and Debra Post.

She was predeceased by her parents, and a husband, Walter T. Parks. Not only will she be missed by her family, but also by her childhood friend Bonnie Black, may they have their memories forever.

May you sit next to the Lord and find your eternal happiness, Mom, you will be greatly missed and never forgotten. WE will have you in our hearts forever. Someday, we will all be together again in the Lord’s house, until that day, may you rest in Peace.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 12noon-1:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2pm at St. Patrick Church, East Main Street, Mystic. Fr. Brian Romanowski will be celebrant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic.
