Obituary

Frederick A. Ricker of Reading passed on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was 81 years of age.

Born in Nyack, New York, Frederick was the beloved son of Ethel (Jones) Ricker and Frederick A. Ricker. Frederick was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

During WWII, Frederick proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Marines.

Frederick was a former Postal Inspector. He loved to garden and play golf.

Frederick was the beloved husband of Joan (Ward) Ricker. He was the devoted father of Mary Jenkins of Sandwich, William Ward Ricker and his wife Lynn of Reading, Susan Winkler of NY and the late Joanne Ricker. He was the cherished grandfather of Michelle Arnold and her husband Anthony of CO, Brian Jenkins of NY, Michael Jenkins of CA, Brandon Winkler of NY and Jim Ricker of Reading and Great Grandfather of Brogen Arnold. Frederick was the dear brother of Jim Ricker of NY and the late Clarence Ricker. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Frederick’s life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill Street, Reading at 10 am. Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
