Barbara D. Gardiner (Barlow) passed away on August 15th at Jordan Hospital surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88. Barbara was born in Newport, RI and was raised in North Abington. She lived in New Smyrna Beach, FL for 35 years and summered in Plymouth with her family. Barbara is survived by her loving children Susan Gorman and her husband William of Kingston, Terry Gardiner and his wife Lorraine of Greeneville, TN and his twin sister Trudy Ward of Plymouth and Dale Gardiner and his wife Debbie of Randolph. She also leaves her brother Bradley Barlow of Middletown, RI, her sister Bette A. Bump of N. Abington and her 11 cherished grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with another great grandchild on the way and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sister of the late E. Berkeley Barlow and Beverly Feitner. Barbara worked for many years in the Abington School System and had been a member of the Junior Mothers Club and the North Congregational Church in North Abington where she also sang in the choir and was a proud member of the Abington High School Class of 1938. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles, transforming a bag of concrete into cement steps and patios and gardening when she was a little younger. A huge sports fan, she loved the Red Sox, the New England Patriots and was a big fan of Jeff Gordon and NASCAR racing. She especially loved spending her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date and a private burial will be held in Rhode Island.
