Clara G. Ducas

Centenarian
LONDONDERRY– Clara G. Ducas, 102, died peacefully August 14, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Manchester on March 2, 1907, daughter of Alexandre and Eugenie (Hamel) Guay. She attended St. Georges Grammar School and lived in Manchester most of her life. Mrs. Ducas was a long time communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church where she was a member of the St. Anne Sodality. She was a Catholic Medical Center Associate volunteering in the gift shop for over 20 years. She received many awards for her years of service. She enjoyed crocheting and giving handmade afghans to numerous family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Albani Ducas in 1965.
IN HER LIFE
Members of her family include two sons, Norman Ducas and his wife Diane of Londonderry, Eugene Ducas and his wife Lorraine of Manchester; five grandchildren: Peter Ducas, Maria Grzyb, James N. Ducas, Dominique Ducas, Joanne Ducas; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Grzyb, James L. Ducas, Adela Grzyb; nephews, Roger Vallee, Thomas Soucy; nieces, Denise Latouche, Madeleine Cleland, Diane Soucy-Zegler, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by twin sister Laura Vallee, sister Therese Soucy, and brother Leo Guay.
Mrs. Ducas was a kind and gentle woman. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her life.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 3 to 7p.m. at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Manchester & Southern NH, 33 S. Commercial St, Manchester 03101; or to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester 03103.
