Obituary

SPRING HILL, FL - Lucy F. (Potenza) Ciampa, age 89, wife of the late Armando A. “Red” Ciampa, of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Hamilton, died June 10, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Antoinette (Cassesso) Potenza. and was raised and educated in East Boston.

Mrs. Ciampa lived in Hamilton for 24 years before moving to Florida in 1982.

Mrs. Ciampa is survived by one son, Richard Ciampa of Salem, one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Frank Shibilia of Salem, two grandchildren, Mark Shibilia of Woburn, Debra & her husband Michael Krol of Sandown, NH, three great grandchildren, Nicholas Krol and Kaitlyn Krol, both of Sandown, NH, Gina Shibilia of Gardner, MA 9 siblings and their spouses, Joseph & Barbara Potenza of Dennis, Delores & Nunzio Celona of E. Boston, Susan King of Canton, GA, Jeannie Flaherty of Littleton, Peter & JoAnn Potenza of Westford, Alfred & Arlene Potenza of Revere, Rita Neal of Middle River, MD, Louis Potenza of Lynn, Anna Amato of Medford and and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 8 siblings, Dorothy Pedone, Rocco Potenza, Rose Caprio, Laura MacQuarrie, Anthony Potenza, Angelo Potenza, Anna Potenza and Josie Walters.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11 am at the St. Thomas The Apostle Church, North St., Salem, at the Peabody line. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of The North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
