David W. Gould, 74, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died April 6, 2009, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, GA.
Mr. Gould was born June 1, 1935 to the late David W. and Lois Ethridge Gould. He was a 1954 graduate of Thomasville High School, Thomasville, GA and 1958 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. He served in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Japan. He was a member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Sardis Presbyterian Church. He was an active Georgia Tech alumni, volunteer for the blood drive at his church and worked with Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by sons: Tom (Laura) Gould of Maiden, North Carolina and Dr. David W. (Kelly) Gould, III of Midlothian, Virginia; Grandchildren: David W. “Will” Gould, Ben Gould, Sarah Gould, Katie Gould and Elijah Gould; Sister: Marie Ysenbart of Rhode Island; Aunt, Margaret Branch of Fitzgerald, GA and Niece: Vanessa (Robert) Tomberlin of Fernandina Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Nell Greer Gould.
