Adam James Delisle, 40, of Medway died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of Samanta Amenta-Stavar since 2003 and the loving father of Jack Amenta Delisle.
Born in Boston on October 27, 1968, Adam grew up in Farmingdale, ME and attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and the Hall-Dale School District. He also attended UMASS-Boston.
He resided in Watertown and Hawaii until moving to Medway in 2006.
Adam worked as a laboratory manager and assistant for Dr. James Lederer and a team of research fellows in the Department of Surgery, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School since 2004. His work contributed greatly to improving the understanding of immune system complications associated with burn, trauma, and radiation injury. He had previously worked at the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.
Adam was an avid Red Sox fan and loved the city of Boston. He especially cherished his time spent with his wife, Samanta and son, Jack.
Besides his wife and son, he is survived by his mother, Elizabeth A. Watson and her husband, William M. Murray of Portland and Phippsburg, ME, his father, Ronald C. Delisle and his friend, Leslie Strauss of East Winthrop, ME and his sister, Melissa (Delisle) Vermilya, her husband, David and their children, Matthew and Olivia, all of Laguna Beach, CA.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Isabel Stavar of Buenos Aires, Argentina and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Adam’s memorial service will be held at a later date.
