Methuen, MA- John R. “Jack” Sheehy, 67, died peacefully Friday, August 14, 2009 at home, surrounded by those he loved.
Born on May 7, 1942 in Lawrence, Jack was the son of James and Mildred (Lowell) Sheehy. Jack was a graduate of Central Catholic High School class of 1960, and for 25 years , owned and operated the Pizza Pub in Lawrence.
Mr. Sheehy was a member of the Arlington Athletic and Social Club, and the Rocky Club, both of Lawrence, the Howard Associates, and a member of the Lawrence Lodge B.P.O.E. Elks # 65. Jack was an avid sports fan and sponsored Central Little League, Greater Lawrence Basketball, Merrimack Valley Darts, and Greater Lawrence Street Hockey.
Jack is survived by his brother, William Brennan of North Andover, and his best friend of 25 years, Barbara Graichen Davis of Methuen. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Daniel and Richard Brennan of Haverhill, Thomas and John Brennan of North Andover, Kathy Breenan Giard of North Andover, Michael Donahue of Salem, NH, Maryellen Donahue Drew of Methuen, Patricia Donahue Wood of Methuen, Shawn Donahue of Sanborton, NH, Kevin Donahue of Derry, NH, Patty Comeu Cronin of Haverhill, Jamie Scott of Methuen, and two godsons-nephews, Br. William Brennan currently a missionary for the Catholic Church in Australia, and Daniel Sheehy of Lowell, as well as many great- nieces and nephews and many close friends. Jack was also pre-deceased by his siblings, Marilyn Donahue and James F. Sheehy III.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning at 9AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Augustine’s Chapel in Lawrence, with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
