Bessie Sires Dennis, 80, of Charleston, widow of C. Leon Dennis died Friday morning, August 14, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 2 o’clock at Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road, Charleston.
Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 61, Charleston.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o’clock this evening.

Mrs. Dennis was born March 21, 1929 in Adams Run, daughter of the late Russell Sires and Bertha Hammond. She attended St. Paul’s High School. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Charleston Baptist Church.
Surviving are: son: Charlie Dennis and his wife Leslie of Givhans, two daughters: Phyllis Dennis of Charleston and Tammy Dennis of Moncks Corner, two grandchildren: Shelby and Chaz Dennis of Givhans and one sister: Myrtle Wooley and her husband William of Charleston.
