Helen L. (Haynes) Spratt, 70, of Blackstone, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Robert W. Spratt.
Born in Moreau, New York on December 10, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Mabel (Jackson) Haynes. Mrs. Spratt was a resident of Blackstone for the past 13 years and formerly resided in Medway.
Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Spratt had worked at Kidde-Fenwal Inc. in Ashland for 18 years.
She was an avid reader.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert W. Spratt of Millville and Michael G. Spratt of Blackstone, three daughters, Nancy L. Spratt of Bellingham, Barbara L. Spratt of Milford and Linda M. Malmberg of Medway, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the grandmother of the late Ryan Malmberg.
She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Bramer of Fort Edward, NY and her half-brother, Durwood Haynes of West Roxbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, August 18 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley–Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m.
