James A. Morse, 73, of Dartmouth, died Wednesday August 12, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Therese M. (Poineau) Morse.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Francis B. and Josephine A. (Berry) Morse and stepson of the late Mary Morse, he lived in New Bedford and Acushnet before moving to Dartmouth seven years ago.
Mr. Morse was formerly employed as a truck driver with the Adams Trucking Company, Yellowbird Transportation, and Hartman Transportation.
Survivors include his wife; seven children, Manuel Roderiques and his wife Donna of Rhode Island, Therese Guzaj and her husband Joseph of New Bedford, Nancy Atwood and her husband Steven of Mansfield, James E. Morse and his wife Lynne of Dartmouth, Pamela Conigo of New Bedford, Joel Morse and his wife Debra of New Bedford, and Paul Roderiques and his wife Jody of California; a brother, Francis B. Morse, Jr. and his wife Muriel of New Bedford; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4-8 PM. For directions and guest book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
