TAUNTON – Shelley A. Smith, 53, died at home, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, August 11, 2009
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of Perry R. and Prudence “Prudy” D. (Alegi) Smith.
Ms. Smith was educated in Taunton schools and was a graduate of Coyle and Cassidy High School. She also attended UMass Boston for four years.
She worked as a clerk for the Weir Fruit Store.
An avid New England sports fan, she also enjoyed gardening, going to Foxwoods, and gatherings with family and friends.
Ms. Smith was a Team Member for the American Cancer Society and walked yearly, raising funds for the society.
Besides her parents of Taunton, she leaves a sister, Gail Semas and her husband Tony of Taunton; a nephew, Brad Semas of Taunton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was also the sister of the late Perry J. Smith.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Saturday, Aug. 15th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 14th from 5 to 8 p.m.
