Obituary

Brockton – Benedict J. Loycano, Sr. 88, a fifty year resident of Brockton died Tuesday August 11 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace M. (Danca) Loycano.

Born in Revere he was the son of the late Charles and Bernadette (Abbene) Loycano.

He was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1945 -1946.

He worked many years as a machinist and supervisor for Franklin Machine in Norwood, and after retirement continued with the company as a consultant until late in his seventies.

Ben was truly a family man and his greatest pleasure came from the time spent with his family. Ben along with his wife Grace hosted countless family meals which included children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving children Bernadette J. McCann and her husband James of Abington, Charles J. Loycano and his wife Margaret of West Bridgewater, Sandra Sharples and her fiancé Robert Mitchell of Plum Island, Vincent J. Loycano and his wife Deborah of Whitman, Rosemary Loycano and her husband Pierre Gremaud of North Carolina, and Benedict J. Loycano, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Whitman. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held Sunday August 16 at 5 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held three hours prior to the service from 2-5 PM.
