Privitera, Jennie “Jean” (Fiorino) of Arlington formerly of Somerville and East Boston, suddenly, August 11th. Beloved wife of more than 49 years to Francis D. “Frank” Privitera. Devoted mother of Atty. Jeannine Privitera of Medford, Frank Privitera Jr. and his wife Andrea of Woburn, Philip Privitera and his wife Toni-Ann of Arlington. Loving grandmother of Angelique, Anthony, Olivia, Vanessa, Payton, and Presley Privitera. Sister of Phillip Fiorino of Revere, Charles Fiorino of Randolph, Anthony Fiorino of East Boston, the late Joseph Fiorino, Vincenza “Vinnie” Terranova and Josephine Cheffro. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, Aug. 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 3 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.



Obituary:

Jennie "Jean" Privitera. Jennie "Jean" Privitera, of Arlington, MA died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at her home in Arlington. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Vincent and Josephine Fiorino. She was married to Attorney Francis D. Privitera, formerly of the West End, in 1960 where she lived in Somerville and later moved to Arlington. She was the loving mother of three children, Jeannine, Frank Jr. and Philip and grandmother of six. A high school graduate with some college, she was an active and integral partner in numerous flourishing real estate and other business enterprises of herself and her husband. She was also active in many charitable and philanthropic organizations, including the Son's of Italy Renaissance Lodge, Scared Heart Church of the North End, the Dante Alighieri Society, Project Triangle in Malden and Pirandello Lyceum. She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her charitable work, including being named Woman of the Year in 1993 by the Girls Town of Italy. Her and her husband were named Women and Man of year by the Don Orione Home in 1992. In 1995 she and her husband also received the Humanitarian Scalabrini Award from the Sacred Heart Church and were named Humanitarians of the Year by the Elizabeth Peabody House in 1997. She is also co-founder of the Son's of Italy Privitera Perpetual Scholarship award. She was described by her closest friends and family as a modest and kind person who loved those closest to her.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday, Aug. 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
