Obituary

LOWELL - Stasia (Cencora) Halabuda, 84, a long time Lowell resident, died Saturday August 8, 2009 in Kindred Hospital, Waltham. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Halabuda of Lowell.

Born in Dachnow, Poland on June 18, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Maciej and Anna (Holowata) Cencora. She received her education in Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1961 at the age of 36, with her husband and children.

Mrs. Halabuda had been employed as a seamstress in the former textile mills in Lowell.

She was a member of St. Casimir's Church in Lowell.

In her free time she enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers, but was especially proud of her floral gardens. She also enjoyed reading Polish novels, knitting, sewing and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters Jackie Halabuda and her husband David Jacobs and Stasia Errico all of Lowell; three grandchildren Maximilian Jacobs, Jasmine Errico and Michelle Ferus; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Poland. She was the mother of the late Charlotte Ferus and was also predeceased by her ten siblings all from Poland except her late sister Catherine Parda-Ciesla who passed away in Florida.

It being her wish, calling hours are omitted. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM in St. Casimir's Church, Lowell with burial following in St. Casimir's Cemetery Pelham, NH. Relatives and friends invited
