Gerard N.Paquette, 86, of Village Drive, Smithfield, an Operating Engineer for Local 57 in Providence for many years, died Monday, August 10 in Hebert’s Nursing Home, Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Cutrone) Paquette.
Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Hubert and Evelyn (Bouchard) Paquette. He had been a resident of Smithfield his whole life. He had played fast pitch softball with Ace Hardware & Local 57 and was an avid bowler later in his life.
He is survived by his son, John Paquette, DMD and his wife Lynn of Warwick, his grandsons, Jeffrey Paquette and Gerard P. Paquette, Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Zoe, and a brother, Richard Paquette. He was the father of the late, Gerard P. Paquette and brother of the late, Eveline Anderson, Beatrice Lemieux, Hubert, Laurent, Joseph, Raymond, Robert, John and David Paquette.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00AM from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, 02917. Burial in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church.
