MERGUPIS Julia Anastasia “Little Nana” of Mission Hill, born February 18, 1918 died August 4, 2009 after a long illness. Daughter of the late George and Vasiliki Tourtas. Sadly missed by her daughter and son Helen and Spero Mergupis. Grand daughter Valerie and grand son in law Matthew Owen. Great grandsons Matthew and George Owen of Boston. Many nieces, nephews and friends. She was an exceptionally talented woman and loving mother. She owned Kay’s Pastry Shop, where she baked cakes for a clientele ranging from Navy Admirals to Bozo the Clown. Julia graduated from Wilford’s Academy Beauty School and L’Oreal Color Academy. She was an excellent craftswoman, finely skilled in ceramics and a wide range of art. To loved ones, she provided words of wisdom in times of need. Julia’s wake will be held on Tuesday Aug. 11th. at 10am. in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral 514 Parker St. Boston. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11 o’clock. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
