Rosemary (Petrocione) DeMatteo, a 51 year resident of Wakefield, died on Friday, August 7, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Lexington following an extended illness. She was 94 years old.
Rosemary was born in Torrington, CT, on April 13, 1915. She grew up in Waterbury, CT, where she attended schools. She moved to Wakefield in 1958 and dedicated her adult life to taking care of her husband and nurturing her 6 children.
Rosemary is the beloved wife of the late Nicholas C. DeMatteo. She is the devoted mother of Anthony J. DeMatteo of Wakefield, Joanne Buress and her husband Ronald of Utah, Karen DeMatteo of Melrose, Dennis DeMatteo of Maine, Cynthia DeMatteo of North Reading and Nicholas DeMatteo and his wife Susan of Reading. She is the loving grandmother of Carrie-Ann, Nicholas, Joseph, Robert, Jennifer, Lauren, Haley and Andrew.
Rosemary's Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Wakefield/Melrose, line followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are on Monday, August 10, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
