Obituary

Joseph T. D'Ambrosio Jr., a longtime resident of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Caritas Carney Hospital in Dorchester. He was 53 years old.

Joe was born in Boston on December 16, 1955. He grew up in Melrose where he attended the Horace Mann Elementary School and graduated from Melrose High School in 1973. Joe earned an Associate degree in Arts and Sciences from Bunker Hill Community College. Joe established and ran the Winter Street Produce Company in Boston from 1986 to 2004 operating three produce retail locations in downtown Boston. He also established a successful vending company based in Melrose from 2004 to 2008. He had recently graduated from the Millennium Training Institute in Boston where he earned his PC Network Support Certificate and had earned an Electronic Business Data Processing Certificate prior to that. He enjoyed vacationong in Maine and was an avid hunter as well. Joe spent a number of years caring for his mother before she required care at a professional facility.

Joe is the loving father of his 4 year old daughter Michelle D'Ambrosio. He is the dear companion of Michelle's mother Jenny Vega of Lexington. He is the beloved son of the late Joseph T. and Molly A. (Ciocco) D'Ambrosio. He is the devoted brother of Angelo D'Ambrosio and his wife Beverly of Wakefield, Mark D'Ambrosio and his wife Lisa of Manchester, New Hampshire, Linda Ann Papa and her husband David of Windham, New Hampshire and Ann D'Ambrosio of Quincy. He is the loving uncle of several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral Services and burial were held privately.
