In Easton, August 7, 2009 Almena D. “Mena” (Gagner) Grant wife of the late Joseph Grant, died at Southeast Rehabilitation Center at the age of 101. Born and educated in Taunton, Almena was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Delia (LaVallee) Gagner. Almena was a Taunton resident all her life living on Norton Ave and Dighton Ave. She was a retired assembler for Modern Plastics on Hopewell Street and was a member of the Taunton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed Bowling, Crafts and especially playing cards with her family. Almena was the mother of Irene Tosti and her husband Frank of Taunton, Edward Grant and his wife Patricia of Taunton, David Grant and his wife Dorothy of Taunton and the late Joseph Grant Jr. Mother in-law of Bette Grant of No. Attleboro. Grandmother of fifteen, twenty seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Sister of the late Emma Sankey, Arthur Gagner, Andrew Gagner, Oberre Gagner and Dora Ballou. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday August 11th at 9 am. Funeral Mass at St Andrew the Apostle Church (St. Paul’s), Tremont Street in Taunton at 10 am. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Almena’s memory may be made to a charity on one’s choice.
