Fernand O. Laperle 87, of 185 Manville Hill Rd. died Thursday at The Friendly Home. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Marquis) Laperle for thirty eight years. Mr. Laperle was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Edouard and Olympe (Forcier) Laperle. He was a firefighter for the City of Woonsocket for twenty eight years, he also worked as a carpenter for Jackson Construction Co. and N & L Construction Co. Mr. Laperle was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the Carpenters Union for over fifty years and a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge, and North Providence VFW.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters Lucille Lamothe of Bellingham, MA and Xena Linda Penrod of CA, a step daughter Victoria Jackson of Westborough, MA, two sisters Rita Lopresti of Cumberland and Muriel Hathaway of Pascoag, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Albert, Urban, Andre, and Joseph Luger Laperle, Blanche Proulx, Annette Hale, and Florence Girard.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd. Cumberland. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 PM
