New Bedford – Jorge C. Miranda, age 63, died Wednesday August 5, 2009 at home. He was the former husband of Deolinda (Pavao) Miranda and loved father of Sandy Baptista of Fairhaven and Jorge and David Miranda, both of New Bedford. Mr. Miranda was the grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 1. He was the brother of Maria Pedro of Canada. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Miranda was a son of the late Manuel Pacheco and Maria (doReis) Miranda . He was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1971. Mr. Miranda worked for local drywall companies as a taper.
Mr. Miranda’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited
