Clifton Wallace “C.W.” Smith, Jr. 71, of Round-O, husband of Bonnie Nettles Smith died Monday, August 3, 2009. Funeral service will be held Friday, August, 2009 at 11:00 at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock this evening.

Mr. Smith was born April 9, 1938 in Holly Hill, a son of the late Clifton Wesley Smith and Henrietta Jeffers Smith. He served in the United States Coast Guard and Army Reserves. He enjoyed fishing and always had a joke to share at family gatherings. He retired as a welder from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: daughter: Betty Bell of Walterboro, son: Darrell Smith of St. George, 2 grandchildren: David Bell and Kyle Bell both of Cottageville, step daughter: Dianne Huckabee of Surfside Beach, SC, 2 step sons: Stephen Crosby (Samantha) of Cottageville and Kevin Crosby (Courtney) of Columbia, 8 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchildren. 2 sisters: Mary Jeanette Smith of North Charleston, SC and Carolyn Audrey Williamson of Easley, 2 brothers: Tommy Smith of Givhans and David Smith of Walterboro, mother-in-law: Maude P. Nettles of Walterboro, 2 sisters-in-law: Evelyn Crosby (Wayne) and Gloria Syfrett (Bobby), 1 brother-in-law: Eanos Nettles, Jr. (Karen). Several nieces and nephews.
