George Herbert Sharpe Sr., 89, died Tuesday August 4, 2009 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Hudson, NH. Born in Dorchester, MA to the late Frank H. and Mary Sharpe, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. George retired from Sears after many years of service. He was a member of the Central Congregational Church. George’s passions included woodworking, fishing and spending time with his loving family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Eleanor M. Sharpe in 2008. He leaves his children, George H Sharpe Jr. and his wife Paula, Jeanne E. Sullivan and her husband Jerry, Nancy C. Salvi and her husband Thomas, a step-son, Leo E. Dorsan Jr and his wife Alina. He also leaves his 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Calling hours were held on Sunday August 9th, from 1-4pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The funeral services were held Monday August 10th at 10am in the Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent St, Derry, NH. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
