Esther R. (Leo) Cimetti, 80, of Braintree, formerly of Abington, died Monday August 3rd in the Alliance Healthcare Center in Braintree, after a period of failing health. She was the daughter of the late Beniamino and Grazia (Bugbee) Leo. Esther was born, raised and schooled in Maine, moving to Massachusetts at the age of 20. She was an Abington resident for many years. Esther worked as the Public Affairs Secretary, at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station for over 15 years and retiring just before the base closed. In her earlier years, Esther attended Boston University for 2 years and worked there as a Liberian. Esther also worked as a telephone operator for the Telephone Company and at a Veterinarian Medical Supply Company in Hingham .She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and loved animals ,theater ,drama and to write poetry.
She is survived by her daughter Pia McKinnon and her husband Mark, of Brockton, her 2 grandchildren Mark, Jr., and Stephanie McKinnon of Brockton.
Her services will be held on Monday August 10th at 6:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
