Eldon J. Haegle, 76, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2009 at Parkland Medical Center surrounded by his children. Born March 17, 1933 in Pipestone, MN, he was the son of the late Joseph and Susan (Farwick) Haegle. A 1951 graduate of Pipestone High School, Eldon served two years in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. After moving to Windham in 1956, he joined Lockheed Sanders Associates as an engineer in 1958; retiring after nearly 40 years of service. Throughout his life, Eldon was an active and instrumental member of several local organizations including: Pack 266, American Legion Post 109, The Windham Seniors, St. Matthew's Church, Windham Community Television, and the Inspire Group of Southern NH Medical Center.
Survived by children Pamela Haegle and her fiance Joseph Panto of Londonderry, Patricia (Antoon) and her husband Michael of Methuen, Glenn Haegle of Derry, Gary Haegle of Windham, and Wendi Devlin, also of Windham; grandchildren Erika (Donohue) and her husband Kevin, Glenn Haegle, Kristen Antoon, Jaymi Haegle, Chelsea Haegle, Bryan Haegle, Justin Antoon, and Cheyann Devlin; great-granddaughter Rylie Haegle; brothers Vincent Haegle and his wife Pat and Virgil Haegle and his wife Carol; sisters Darlene (Homan) and her husband Marv and Ida Mae Kahnk all of Minnesota, and Dorothy (Johnson) and her husband Paul of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Joanne and Janette Haegle, Lucille Schaefer.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, August 5th from 4 - 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am in St. Matthew's Church, 2 Searles Rd., Windham, with burial in the Cemetery on the Plains in Windham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
