Obituary

Natalie C. (Cronin) Duffy, 73, of New Bedford died Sunday August 3, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Retired Newton Police Captain Richard E. Duffy, to whom she was married for 52 years.

Born in Roxbury, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Garvey) Cronin, she had lived in Newton for over 50 years before moving to New Bedford in 1994. She was a longtime summer resident of Bayview in South Dartmouth.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.

Mrs. Duffy was the former food service manager for King's Kids and Warren Country Day School in Warren, RI, that was operated by her late daughter, Andrea.

Mrs. Duffy was a graduate of Newton High School. She was a member of the Wamsutta Club and former president of the Newton Police Wives Association.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard E. Duffy, Jr., of Israel; 2 daughters, Eileen Hancock of New Bedford and Maureen Duffy Barrows of British Columbia; 3 grandchildren, Charles Reppond, Jr., Baron Duffy and Andrea Hancock; and several nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late T. Edward Duffy and Andrea Duffy, and sister of the late William Cronin, Jr.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordFriday August 8, 2003 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday August 7, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
