Joseph C. Melanson passed away on August 1, 2009. He was 86 years old.
Born in Lynn, Joseph was a longtime resident of Malden and had worked for General Electric in Lynn for 30 years. He was a member of the country band Arizona Pals (Buck Mason) where he played bass fiddle. Joseph also worked part-time as a taxi driver for Everett Taxi for over 40 years and loved going to the Everett Armory.
Joseph was the devoted husband of the late Camilla (Marino), his loving wife of 43 years. He was the beloved father of Carmela Arrigo and her husband Michael of Berwick, ME and the dear brother of the late Doris Kiricoples, Lorraine Lennon, Lydia Kalinowski and Edgar and Alfred Melanson. Joseph was the brother in-law of Joseph Marino, Josephine Assortato and her late husband Luigi, Madeline Marino and her late husband Rosario and the late Philip, Salvatore and Gaetana Marino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 4th from 5-9 p.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
