CHARLTON-Katherine (VanAlstyne) Butler, 73, of 96 Old Worcester Road died Sunday, August 2nd at home. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Gordon W. Butler; a son, Brian G. Butler and his wife, Jen of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter, Kelly A. Parker and her husband, Jerry of South Barre; her grand-dogs, Sully and Wilson; brother, Earl VanAlstyne of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Beverly Pellon of Florida and Claire Coughlin of Worcester; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Butler both of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Claire Seamen of Spencer. A sister, Patricia Kirwin predeceased her.
Katherine was born in Worcester, the daughter of Earl and Catherine (O’Toole) VanAlstyne. Mrs. Butler worked at the Friendly House for many years in the kitchen.
Funeral services are private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
