Jaye H.”Jay-Z” (Romanoff) Moran, 66, of Attleboro formerly of Norton passed away on Sunday August 2, 2009 at the Golden Living Center on George St. in Attleboro.
Born in Boston, MA on January 19, 1943 she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Marcia (Miller) Romanoff.
She grew up in the Dorchester section of Boston and was educated in Boston public schools. Jaye was a retired cashier having worked for several years at Roche Bros. in Norton prior to retiring and had formerly worked at Corporate Productions, Inc., also in Norton.
Jaye loved to shop and had a special fondness for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed taking care of cats around her residence and was also an advocate for the elderly and received much pleasure working with people with disabilities. She was a very popular resident at the Golden Living Center, always boosting the morale of other patients.
A resident of Attleboro for the past 3 years she had formerly made her home in Norton for 30 years.
She is survived by her devoted sons Peter J. Moran of Bridgeton, Maine and Ryan T. Moran of Attleboro, and is also survived by her sister Lana Romanoff of Framingham.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday August 12th from 6-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 P.M on Wednesday August 12th during the visitation at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will be private and in lieu of flowers Jaye’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America-New England Chapter 280 Hillside Ave. Needham, MA 02494 or the Aseracare Hospice 40 Washington St. Suite 100 Wellesley, MA 02481.
